2004

A Dream Takes Shape

What started as a shared vision between Jay Jones and Jim Boes became a reality in 2004. Working out of a small office inside a local machine shop, they set out to build the kind of metal supply center they had always dreamed of—one built on reliability, relationships, and deep industry know-how.

2006

Making Room to Grow

As word spread and customer demand grew, it became clear the original space wasn’t going to cut it. In 2006, Source One Metals moved into its first dedicated warehouse. With more room for inventory and improved fulfillment, this move laid the groundwork for what was to come.

2015

Doubling Down on Supply & Service

After nearly a decade of steady growth, the company took a major step forward—doubling its space, team, and inventory. This expansion allowed Source One Metals to offer a wider range of materials and services, strengthening its reputation as the go-to source for hard-to-find non-ferrous metals.

2018

A New Chapter Begins

In 2018, Jim Boes sold his controlling interest to his son, Kyle Boes, ushering in the next generation of leadership. Jim remained a guiding presence at the company until his well-earned retirement in 2024, helping to ensure a smooth transition while continuing the legacy he helped build.

2021

Investing in the Future

To keep pace with increasing demand, Source One Metals moved into a modern, state-of-the-art facility. With upgraded equipment and enhanced logistics capabilities, the team was better equipped than ever to deliver faster lead times and elevated service to every customer.

2023
